A dummy graphic connector can be used to fool a graphic card that there is an screen connected. This can be used to utilize an extra head on the graphic card, to be used for displaying a windows desktop that you can remote connect to, for example.

VGA Dummy

The graphic card will think that a screen is connected to the VGA port if there is an 75ohm resistance between the Red pin and Red round, Green pin and Green ground and so on. So you just have to take an VGA connector and solder three 75ohm resistors between pins 1-6, 2-7 and 3-7.

DVI Dummy

It is possible to use a VGA to DVI adapter and then use a VGA Dummy as described above.

There are also products that will simulate a screen with a specific resolution over DVI

TV Out

A TV will be detected if there is a 75ohm resistance in the cable.
